Kids in Digital Spaces

Project Title: KIDS Media Evolution Across Generations

Danube+ KIDS is a transnational event with a focus on film, animation, and media education, intercultural innovative learning, creativity, and global citizenship education for sustainable development. We are creating a mobile, digital, and multimedia edutainment space developing a high level of participatory philosophy of the KIDS, Young people and their teachers, trainers, and educators engage in design thinking, learning and leadership processes, seminars, and workshops aiming to produce various film, animation, and media during this process. This material is the cornerstone of an international platform designed to connect, inspire, and support people to find innovative educational approaches and to help them become active citizens.

KIDS builds up skills and knowledge and gathers experience to share the information important for promoting possibilities for future media and digital literacy challenges by creating new partnerships, networks, and collaborative connections, promoting cross-sector and cross-border cooperation. It is a long-term project encouraging the ALPHA generation to invent new models of digital media education, cultural heritage exchange protection, and traditional richness with tourism for peace, social, economic, and environmental responsibility.

The modified “Kids In Digital Space – KIDS” project now includes a focus on advancing and fostering harmony between people and countries as well as peace with nature. This initiative is integrated into the project’s core elements of gamified learning and diverse narratives.

By incorporating gamified elements such as quizzes, puzzles, and missions within stories, the project creates interactive educational content that emphasizes the importance of peace and environmental stewardship. Kids are encouraged to design and develop simple educational games that highlight themes like river conservation, cross-cultural understanding, and international cooperation along the Danube River.

On the narrative side, the project aims to foster global storytelling with a specific emphasis on the rich cultural and environmental heritage. Stories will reflect diverse perspectives, cultures, and histories of the countries connected by the Danube, showcasing efforts for peace among its people and harmony with the natural environment. Tools are provided to produce content in multiple languages, promoting cultural exchange and expanding the reach of these narratives to a wider audience.

Interaction and engagement are enhanced through seamless digital and physical integration, using AR storytelling to blend digital storytelling with the physical environment of the Danube. Projects may combine physical materials, such as river samples or local artifacts, with digital media, such as stop-motion animation featuring real-world objects from the Danube region enhanced with digital effects to create a more immersive experience. Additionally, voice and gesture control technologies are implemented in the media production tools, allowing kids to navigate and control their creation processes more intuitively and interactively.

The “Danube for Peace” initiative within the “Kids in Digital Space” project aims to inspire a new generation of peacebuilders and environmental stewards. By linking the cultural and environmental significance of the Danube River with digital media creation, the project fosters a sense of unity and purpose among kids from different backgrounds, encouraging them to contribute to both peace among people and harmony with nature.
