Development today is inseparable from peacebuilding, digital inclusion, ecological balance, and intercultural understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Development cannot be realised without peace, and peace cannot be sustained without equitable development.<br><strong>The renewed right should explicitly affirm:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Peaceful coexistence as a prerequisite for development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prevention of conflict through inclusive, participatory development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protection of human dignity in all development processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital and Media Literacy as Core Development Rights<br>In 1986, digital life did not exist. In 2026, it shapes every aspect of human development.<br><strong>The renewed right should include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Universal access to digital skills and safe digital environments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ethical use of technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protection from digital exclusion, manipulation, and misinformation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Intercultural Dialogue and Human Solidarity<br>Development must strengthen the social fabric, not only economies.<br><strong>The renewed right should emphasise:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dialogue across cultures, generations, and identities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respect for diversity as a source of resilience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shared responsibility for global wellbeing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Fair Global Governance and International Cooperation<br>The world needs a more balanced system of cooperation.<br><strong>The renewed right should call for:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Equitable participation of all states in global decision\u2011making<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduction of structural inequalities in trade, finance, and technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stronger mechanisms for global solidarity in crises<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Young people must be recognised, not only as beneficiaries but also as co-creators of development.<br><strong>The renewed right should guarantee:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meaningful youth participation in shaping policies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to education that integrates peace, digital literacy, and sustainability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for youth-led innovation and reconciliation initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Right to Development: A 2026 Perspective The UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is the UN\u2019s main body for coordinating global economic, social, and sustainable development policies.
