Jasmine Trinca<\/strong> is the guest of honour for the opening of\u00a0the 47th Giffoni Film Festival<\/strong>. One of the best Italian actresses recently awarded at the\u00a0Cannes 2017 Festival in the section ‘Un certain Regard’<\/strong> for her extraordinary performance in\u00a0Sergio Castellitto’s “Fortunata” <\/strong>will walk the\u00a0blue carpet\u00a0on 14 July at the\u00a0Cinema\u00a0Citadel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The Italian actress made her screen debut at 18 when she was cast by Nanni Moretti for his\u00a0“La stanza del figlio”<\/strong>, Palma d\u2019Or winner in 2001. The role won her many awards for best emerging talent. She then landed a role in “La meglio giovent\u00f9”\u00a0<\/strong>by\u00a0Marco Tullio Giordana, for which she won the ‘Nastro d\u2019Argento’<\/strong> in 2004 for best actress and the\u00a0Chopard award in Cannes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In\u00a02005 she went on to feature in blockbusters\u00a0“Romanzo Criminale”<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0Michele Placido and\u00a0“Manuale d\u2019amore”\u00a0<\/strong>by\u00a0Giovanni Veronesi. In 2006 she was cast by Nanni Moretti \u00a0for\u00a0“Il caimano”\u00a0<\/strong>(in competition in Cannes), where she portrayed a young director willing to make a controversial film on Berlusconi.<\/p>\n She won the\u00a0Marcello Mastroianni award<\/strong> at the Mostra del cinema di Venezia\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0Vittorio De Sica\u00a0Award<\/strong> for “Il grande sogno” <\/strong>(2009) by Michele Placido. Her other film credits include “L\u2019Apollonide \u2013 House of Tolerance”<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0Bertrand Bonello (2011) “Saint Laurent”<\/strong> (2014) by the same director.\u00a0“Ultimatum”<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0Alain Tasma with Gaspard Ulliel and\u00a0“Lovers (Une autre vie)”\u00a0<\/strong>by\u00a0Emmanuel Mouret.<\/p>\n In \u00a02013 she starred in\u00a0“Miele”<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0Valeria Golino (Un certain Regard, Cannes) and\u00a0“Un giorno devi andare”<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0Giorgio Diritti (Sundance Film Festival) performances for which she won a\u00a0Globo d\u2019Oro<\/strong> and a Nastro d\u2019Argento<\/strong>. She then featured alongside Sean Penn and Javier Bardem in\u00a0“The Gunman”<\/strong>\u00a0(2015) by Pierre Morel, originating the role of a young English doctor named Annie.
